Booster Club begins annual fundraising campaign.

April 17, 2001

CAPE GIRARDEAU - The Southeast Missouri State University Booster Club will kickoff the annual fund raising drive with a rally for volunteers Wednesday night at the Show Me Center.

Over 65 volunteers will participate in the campaign and will be divided into eight teams. The volunteers will call on current boosters and solicit new members for the Booster Club.

"We have a dedicated group of volunteers who do a tremendous job every year," said Greg Brune, director of athletic development at Southeast. "All of our head coaches are involved."

This year's campaign will seek to raise over $600,000 in donations and will also sell season tickets for football and basketball. Each volunteer will seek to add at least three new boosters.

The money raised by the Booster Club goes primarily to support athletic scholarships for male and female student-athletes at Southeast. During the 2001-2002 school year, Southeast will provide scholarship assistance to nearly 250 student-athletes. The scholarships will require over $1,626,940 in athletic revenue.

Anyone needing more information about the Booster Club should call 651-2005.
