CAPE GIRARDEAU - Eric Foote has been named assistant athletic director at Southeast Missouri State University while Cindy Gannon has been named assistant to the athletic director.

Foote, who has been marketing director at Southeast for the past two years, will become assistant athletic director for marketing and promotions effective July 1. In his new position, Foote will continue with his marketing and promotion duties and will also be involved in development initiatives.

Gannon, the highly successful head volleyball coach at Southeast, will continue as volleyball coach but will also assist the athletic director and provide administrative support for the upcoming NCAA certification review, facilities management, fund raising and marketing. Gannon has a record of 309-149 in 12 years as volleyball coach at Southeast and has taken her team to the NCAA tournament in four of the last five years.

"Foote has done an outstanding job in his two years at Southeast and we look forward to his leadership in his expanded duties," said Don Kaverman, Southeast director of athletics. "Coach Gannon has developed an outstanding volleyball program at Southeast and is ready to assume additional responsibilities within the department. Her experience and expertise will be invaluable to us."

Kaverman also announced that Southeast strength coach Tom Kelso has resigned, effective June 30, to pursue other career opportunities. Kelso has been strength coach at Southeast since 1991.

Gannon will head up a national search to find a replacement for Kelso. Southeast hopes to have a new strength coach in place by August 1.
