CAPE GIRARDEAU - The Department of Athletics at Southeast Missouri State University will receive a donation for the majority of sales at a large Bar-B-Que on July 26-27 at the Country Mart, 309 East Jackson, in Jackson.

The Bar-B-Que will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days with Southeast athletic department personnel and Southeast coaches joining with the staff at Country Mart to prepare and sell the Bar-B-Que that can be for take out or for dining at the site.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for the athletic department of Southeast to raise some much needed funds and for our coaches to interact with all the people who attend the event," said Greg Brune, director of athletic development at Southeast. "We appreciate the willingness of Country Mart and the other sponsors to create this fund raising event."

In addition to Southeast athletics and Country Mart additional sponsors of the event include Bunny Bread, Wonder Bread, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, RC Cola, Bunzl, Prairie Farms, Southeast Missourian, Zimmer Radio and Frito Lay.

Some of the items that will be available include a full side of hickory smoked spare ribs for $9.99, pork BBQ sandwiches for .99 each, Johnsville bratwurst for .99, BBQ leg quarters for .99, smoked turkey drumsticks for .99 and whole smoked Boston butt for $2.99 a pound.
