CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Former Southeast Missouri State Sundancer Amber Martin has been hired to coach her former team as announced by the Southeast Athletic Department on Friday.
Martin, a 1999 graduate of Southeast, the captain and most valuable performer of the 1996-97 and 1997-98 Sundancer squads. Martin, who received her degree in Therapeutic Recreations, is currently a supervisor at the Cottonwood Treatment Center.
"We are very excited to have Amber direct the Sundancers squad," said Eric Foote, Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions who has involved in Martin's hiring process. "She is extremely qualified and will be a great asset to our Spirit Groups.
Martin takes over for Suzanne Vaughn, who left Southeast at the end of the Spring semester.
