Jayson Santos has been hired as an assistant athletic director for compliance at Southeast Missouri State University.
A journalism graduate of the University of Texas with a law degree from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas, Santos will assume his new position on August 1.
Santos was an intern at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis last year and previously served as a legal intern at Texas Southern University in athletics compliance.
"We feel fortunate to be able to hire Jayson Santos," said Don Kaverman, Southeast Director of Athletics. "Santos has a law degree and a year of experience working at the NCAA office. He knows compliance and he knows the NCAA systems."
At the NCAA, Santos provided verbal and written rules interpretations for the NCAA membership and general public. He analyzed and processed various initial eligibility, progress-toward-degree, Administrative Review Subcommittee waivers.
Santos will replace Alicia Scott who resigned earlier this summer.
