BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - Southeast Missouri State University student-athletes were honored on Wednesday by the Ohio Valley Conference for achieving high marks in the classroom. 13 student-athletes won the OVC Medal of Honor a total of 17 times, while 71 total student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll a total of 81 times.

Southeast led all OVC schools with 13 Medal of Honor winners, the second straight season Southeast has topped this category. The total number of Southeast Medal of Honor winners increased by one from last year, when 12 student-athletes were honored. To be a Medal of Honor winner, the student-athlete must achieve the highest grade-point average in a conference supported sport, usually with the G.P.A. being a 4.0. There were 62 total student-athletes from OVC schools who received this honor.

To be named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 G.P.A.
