CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Oct. 23, 2008) - Neal Boyd of Sikeston, Mo., a Southeast Missouri State University alumnus and recent winner of the NBC hit television series "America's Got Talent," will be in Cape Girardeau on Saturday and will take part in the coin flip prior to the Southeast vs. Tennessee State football game.
Boyd will be on campus to receive the Distinguished Service Award and will ride in the homecoming parade. The award will be given at an All-Alumni Breakfast to be held at 7:30 a.m. Saturday in the Wehking Alumni Center, 926 Broadway.
The Southeast Homecoming parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Capaha Park, traveling east on Broadway to Main Street and then turning south on Main. The parade is expected to be an exciting celebration of Southeast pride. This year's Homecoming theme is "Imagine the Possibilities.".
The coin flip will be just prior to the start of the 1 p.m. homecoming game with nationally ranked Tennessee State. The Tigers, ranked 19th nationally, are 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference. Southeast is 2-5 overall and 0-3 in the OVC.
