SIU-Carbondale - The Southeast Track and Field Redhawk team returned to Southern Illinois University for the Saluki Booster Invitational. The meet was unscored and gave the men and women a chance to pick up where they left off before Christmas break. The meet started Friday evening and continued all day Saturday with several impressive performances.

On the men's side, the top performance came from Miles Smith who won the 400 meter dash in 48.03. Walter Washington was a very close second in a time of 48.49. Chaz Brown also had a good day, finishing second in the 800 meter run in a time of 1:57.24 and also ran on the winning 4X400 team consisting of Brown, Smith, Washington, and Alonzo Nelson. Gabe Lutes captured second place in the 5000m run in a time of 16:01.80. Andrew Lambert pulled away with two top three places. He placed second in the long jump and third in the high jump.
