Track and Field Compete at Hoosier Relays

Bloomington, IN - The Track and Field team competed in a two-day meet in Bloomington, IN at the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse. Southeast Redhawks had several big performances.

After a fifth place seat in the prelims, Heather West came back in the finals and won the triple jump with a leap of 38'7.75". Brooke Woodruff also performed well in the 800 meter run. She placed second in a time of 2:14.01.

For the men, Miles Smith continues to shine in the 400 meter dash. He captured third place in a time of 47.49. This time is the best in the OVC and his best time of the season. The men's 4X400 meter relay team also competed well with Smith as they won the event in a time of 3:15.63. Chaz Brown placed second in the 600 meter run in 1:21.22 with Walter Washington a close fourth in 1:21.56.

The men and women Redhawks head back to SIU-Carbondale next weekend for the Southern Illinois Open.
