Track & Field Teams Finish Strong at Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational

LINCOLN, Neb. (Saturday, February 6, 2010) – The Southeast Missouri State track & field teams recorded several personal and season’s best on Saturday afternoon at the final day of the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational. Ten Redhawk athletes competed Saturday all placing within the top-twenty at the prestigious event.

Junior Josh Uchtman finished sixth in the shot put with a heave of 56’-7.50” while senior Brandon Colbert placed 10th throwing a distance of 54’-0.50”.

The men’s distance team picked up three of the top-20 finishes led by senior Paul Stemmerman. Stemmerman recorded a season best in the one mile run coming in at 4:13.46 which landed him a 6th place finish overall. Junior Joel Krause also recorded a new personal best in the one mile garnering him a 10th place with a time of 4:20.56.

Junior Chris Loseman also recorded a season’s best running in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:49.26 placing him 12th.

Sophomore Max Wieser recorded a 13th place coming in with a time of 1:57.48 in the 800 meter run.

Junior Ryan Criglar garnered a second place finish in the consolation running of the 200 meters with a new personal best time of 22.15.

On the women’s side junior Kelly Good led the way recording a top-ten finish in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 3:19.74 which placed her seventh.

Junior Monica Noble placed 17th in the 3,000 meter run recording a new season’s best coming in with a time of 10:58.22.

Senior Ashley Brewer tied for ninth in the shot put with a toss of 47’-1.50” which set a new personal best.

The Redhawks will hit the road next weekend for the Hoosier Hill Invitational in Bloomington, Indiana.
