BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Southeast Missouri State University shot putter Heather Jenkins used a seasonal best throw of 48-feet 3-inches to place second in the shot put during the first day of the Indiana Invitational indoor track meet. Megan Youse finished eighth in the shot put.

Competing against the top teams from the Big 10, Southeastern, Sun Belt and Missouri Valley conferences, the Southeast women placed in most first day events. Courtney Haman placed third in the high jump at 5-5, Michelle Jett was seventh in the pole vault at 10-6 and Meleisa Greene was eighth in the long jump at 17-4. Brooke Woodruff finished 13th in the 800 at 2:20.56.

Brandon Myer placed fourth in the shot put for the Southeast men's team with a throw of 54-feet. Dan Jones was eighth at 50-9. Jared Tanz had the seventh fastest qualifying time in the 800-meters and Chad Sierman had the eighth best time in the mile at 4:26.90.
