The Southeast men's indoor track and field team sent just a few athletes to the University of Notre Dame this weekend in an attempt for them to gain personal marks and possibly qualify for next weekend's NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.

In what many consider the best "last chance meets" in the nation, the Indian athletes fell short of NCAA qualifiying, although some did have impressive showings in the non-scored meet.

Jay Heddell finished third in the shot put with a throw of 57' 8.5", breaking the Southeast indoor record in the shot put.

Senior pole vaulter Jaret Willi, fresh off his first-place performance at last week's OVC Indoor Championships, finished second in the pole vault this weekend with a height of 16' 9.5".

Jason Campbell finished 14th in the 400m with a time of 48.34. Chaz Brown finsihed the 800m in 20th place with a time of 1:53.1, while Adam Shupe finished in 23rd place with a time of 1:53.9.

Shelton Scott finsihed sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 48' 2.5". Glenn Haley and David Herman each recorded times in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.01 and 8.26, respectively.

Those wishing to view complete results of the Alex Wilson Invitational can access them through the University of Notre Dame's athletic website, www.und.com.

The Alex Wilson Invitational concludes the indoor track and field schedule for Southeast. They will now begin preparation for the outdoor season, which will begin March 23 at the Alabama Invitational.
