Track Athlete Miles Smith Wins the 400m Dash at Notre Dame Invitational

Notre Dame, IN - Several athletes attended the Notre Dame Invitational, hoping to climb the provisional list for the indoor NCAA National Championships. The complete list of athletes that will be allowed to attend will be announced this evening at 7 p.m.

For the men, Miles Smith continued his 400m reign, running his best time of the season, 46.42, and winning the title out of 27 top athletes. He was also a part of the 4X400m relay team that placed second in a time of 3:10, also including Walter Washington, Alonzo Nelson, and Chaz Brown.

On the women's side, Brooke Woodruff also improved her 800m run time, 2:08.70, for a 5th place finish. Donniece Parrish placed 8th in the 200m dash (24.85), Jenny Burke placed 14th in the 800m run (2:12.78) and Kathy Coleman placed 9th in the long jump (19'9.5").

The rest of the Redhawk team awaits their first outdoor meet that will be held March 17 in Tuscaloosa, AL for the U. of Alabama Relays.
