TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (Sunday, March 28, 2010) The Southeast Missouri State track and field teams concluded the Alabama Relays on Sunday with six top-five finishes. The finishes capped off a solid weekend performance for the Redhawks who tallied two individual titles.

Junior Josh Uchtman stood out among the performers. He recorded a runner-up finish in the discus with a season’s best 168’-7.00”. He placed first among collegiate athletes. He followed that with a third place showing in the shot put with a heave of 55’-9.75”, setting a new outdoor personal best.

Teammate Brandon Colbert matched Uchtman in finishes. He placed second in the shot put with a toss of 56’-5.75” which set a season’s best. His third place showing came in the hammer throw with a distance of 188’-1.00”.

Colbert also added an eighth place in the discus with a throw of 153’-0.00”.

On the women’s side, senior Samantha Espiricueta placed third in the javelin throw with a distance of 147’-8.00”.

Senior Audrey Harwood and freshman Nikki Buchheit tied for seventh in the pole vault with heights of 10’-6.00”. Freshman Jill Schnurbusch placed tenth with a height of 10’-0.00”.

In the relays the 4 X 1500 meter relay team placed second. The team of Alex Zisser, Jason Lumpkin, Joel Krause and Chris Loseman finished with a time of 16:33.33.

The 1,600 meter sprint medley team of Myron Pettigrew, Max Wieser, Jamere Franklin and Dustin Davis finished third with a time of 3:40.28.

The women’s 1,600 meter sprint medley team finished fifth. Rachel Kahle, Travon Beard, freshmen Jerika Lewis and Tiffany Mead finished with a time of 4:13.71.

In the women’s 4 X 1500 meter relay, seniors Juli Koenegstein and Szandra Pal joined junior Monica Noble and Kasey Owens to place eighth with a time of 20:22.56.

The Redhawks return to the track this upcoming weekend as they host the Joey Haines Invitational at the Abe Stuber Track & Field Complex. The meet kicks-off on Friday, April 2 with the men’s and women’s hammer throw.
