Redhawks Complete Mississippi State Invitational

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Southeast Missouri State track athletes took home a number of top-five honors as they completed the Mississippi State Invitational.

First place finishes came from Audrey Harwood in the pole vault with a height of 11-0 and Ben Stricklin in the javelin with a heave of 192-11.

Samantha Espiricueta and Lindsay Hearne both regionally qualified in the javelin and earned second and third place finishes. Espiricueta had a toss of 149-0, followed by Hearne, with a toss of 148-0. Teammate Rebecca Martin finished fourth respectively with a heave of 129-0.

Sophomore Ashley Brewer placed second in the discus (143-09), while Josh Uchtman placed third in the discus (149-0) and fourth in the shot put (49-01.75). Brianna Egbuka was fourth in the shot put with a toss of 42-06.75.

Sophomore Linnea Woldtvedt finished third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:58.25.

In the men's and women's 3,000-meter run, Brandi Gervais and Brandon Karcher both finished fourth. Gervais had a time of 11:05.66, while Karcher clocked 8:58.26.

Other notable performances went to Andy Glass who was fourth in the shot put (47-10), Richard Martin who finished fourth in the javelin (147-11) and Stephanie Harres who finished fifth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:25.24.
