Stuckenschneider Wins KU Relays 400 meter Title

Lawerence, Kansas - Senior Hannah Stuckenschneider of Southeast Missouri State University ran away from the field to win the 400-meters at the Kansas Relays.

Stuckenschneider qualified for the NCAA Regional with her time of 54.91. Alicia Harris of Eastern Illinois was a distant second in 56.10.

Sophomore Brooke Woodruff was the top collegian in the 800-meters with a time of 2:12.09. The event was won by Kataya Kastetshaya competing unattached.

Lindsay Stevenson was second in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.22 and finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles.

Laura VanHoevelaak was third in the 400-hurdles in a time of 62.82. The women's 800-meter relay team was third while the 400-meter relay team finished fifth and the sprint medley relay team seventh.

Courtney Haman was third in the javelin with a personal best throw of 153-9 and she finished sixth in the high jump at 5-5. An NCAA qualifier in the javelin, Haman's throw of 153-9 is the best in the Ohio Valley Conference this season.

The Southeast men did well in the field events with Jay Heddell finishing sixth in the shot put (55-2 ½) while Brandon Myer was seventh (55-1).

Shelton Scott was fifth in a an outstanding triple jump field. He jumped a seasonal best 50-9, tops in the OVC.

Chad Sierman was third in the steeplechase in a time of 9:30.06 and David Herman finished fourth in the high hurdles in a time of 14.73.
