Women Second; Men Third at Pace Setter Invitational Numerous individual feats seal top-3 finishes for both Indians and Otahkians.

Terre Haute, Ind. - Southeast's men's and women's track and field squads continued their impressive season Saturday at the Pace Setter Invitational, grabbing spots in the top-3 in both the men's and women's division. The Otahkians finished with 118 points, second only to the host school, Indiana State (134). Otahkian top performers include: LaQuita Andrews (3rd, 400m), Kaci Pilcher (2nd, 800m), Lyndsey Stevenson (3rd, 100m hurdles - 4th, 400m hurdles), Laura Van Hoevelaak (2nd, 400m hurdles), Courtney Haman (2nd, high jump - 2nd, javelin), Sara Kaznica (1st, pole vault), Meleisa Greene (1st, long jump), Lindsey Meyr (2nd, long jump) and Heather Jenkins (3rd, shot put - 1st, discus). The Otahkian 4x400m relay team of Van Hoevelaak, Andrews, Stevenson and Hannah Stuckenschneider finished first. The Indians turned in a third-place performance with 89 points. Only Indiana State (1st, 198) and Ball State (2nd, 134.5) finished better than the Indians. Indian top performers include: Jason Campbell (1st, 400m), Adam Shupe (2nd, 800m), Glenn Haley (1st, 110m hurdles), David Herman (3rd, 110m hurdles), Collin Sheridan (2nd, pole vault), Shelton Scott (1st, triple jump). Jay Heddell was a double-winner, winning both the shot put and discus. The Indians 4x400m relay team of Michael Bobo, Shupe, Chaz Brown and Campbell finished first. Next weekend, Southeast will participate in the prestigious Drake Relays at Drake University. On May 3-4, Southeast will host the Ohio Valley Conference Championships at Abe Stuber Track Complex. |
