Men's 4x100 Place Third, Women's DMR Breaks School Record

Cape Girardeau, MO (April 25, 2004) Over the weekend the Southeast Missouri State track team competed in the Drake Relays in Des Moines, IA. The men's 4x100 meter-relay and the women's distance medley relays had the most impressive performances for Southeast.

The men's 4x100-meter relay team of Jon Jefferson, Tim Jefferson, Miles Smith and Seth Schuster brought home a third place finish with a time of 41.49. The women's distance medley relay of Linday Zeiler, Natasha Fortenberry, Kaci Pilcher and Brooke Woodruff broke the school record in a time of 11:39.26 placing them fourth in the event.

The only other top place finish for Southeast was the men's sprint medley relay. T. Jefferson, Schuster, Smith and Jared Tanz were sixth place in the relay recording 3:25.19.

The track team will continue competition this weekend at the Illinois Invitational Saturday May 1 in Champaign, IL.
