6/27/09 Former Redhawks All-American sprinter Miles Smith's bid to make the US National Team came up short at the 2009 USA Track & Field National Championships held at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon as he finished eighth in the 400 meter finals with a time of 46.09. Smith needed to finish in the top three to garner an automatic berth unto the USA National Team that will compete in the 2009 IAAF World Championships in Berlin, Germany.
6/19/09 Redhawks cross country and track runner Amy Warren (Cincinnati, Ohio) was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Third Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). She is the first Academic All-American for the Redhawks track and cross country team since Michele Jett received Second Team accolades in 2006 and fifth female track & field and cross country athlete overall for the program.
6/10/09 Sophomore Samantha Espiricueta saw her 2009 outdoor season come to an end on a miserable, rainy day at the first day of the 2009 NCAA Women's Track & Field Championships on Wednesday afternoon. She finished 26th and failed to advance out of the preliminary rounds.
