Southeast Track Teams To Compete in McDonald's Invitational

Jan. 22, 2004

Cape Girardeau, MO (January 22, 2004) - The Southeast Missouri State track teams will head over to Carbondale, IL this weekend to compete in the Southern Illinois McDonald's Invitational. This meet is scheduled for two days beginning Friday with preliminary heats and field events and continuing on through Saturday.

Teams competing in the meet are Arkansas State, Memphis State, University of Louisville, Murray State, Austin Peay, Harding University and Southern Illinois.

The McDonald's Invitational will be the first meet of the season for the Indians and Otahkians that is a scored meet. This will allow Southeast to see how well they compete against schools in the OVC and other non-conference Division I schools.

"Last weekend we had several outstanding performances on both the men's and women's teams, said head track and field coach Joey Haines. "This weekend we hope to build on everyone's individual performances and have great overall team performances.”
