John Berry Selected as OVC Male Field Athlete of the Week

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - John Berry has been honored by the Ohio Valley Conference as Male Field Athlete of the Week for his exceptional performance at the Saluki Booster Invitational. He is the second Redhawk to receive an OVC honor this year.

John Berry, a junior from St. Louis, Missouri, won the long jump at the Saluki Booster Invitational with a NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 24'07.75. Berry shares the weekly honor with Kyle Ellis from Eastern Illinois, who placed first in the pole vault with leap of 17'00.75" at the EIU Mega Meet and also provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships.

Berry and the Redhawks will return to competition this weekend at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington Ind.
