Three Track and Field Redhawks Garner OVC Honors

After last weekend's performances at the Saluki Booster Invitational, three Track and Field athletes gained OVC honors.

Sophomore Miles Smith was named Male Track Athlete of the Week after he won the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.03. The time was just .09 off his season-best time of 47.94, which ranks first on the OVC best list.

Junior Andrew Lambert received Male Field Athlete of the Week after he took second in the long jump with a distance of 22'09.75". He also finished third in the high jump with a leap of 6'04.00".

Andrew Lambert took second in the long jump and third in the high jump.


Freshman Kathy Coleman has gained much attention since her Southeast debut. She has already broken the school record in the triple jump and ranks first on the OVC best list in the triple and long jump. At the Saluki Booster Invitational, she won the long jump with a distance of 19'04.25" and placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 39'03.75". She also took fourth in the 55 meters (7.12) and 55 meter hurdles (8.45).

Kathy Coleman ranked first on the OVC best list in the long and triple jump.


All three athletes will be back in action this weekend at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, IN.
