Feb. 2, 2007 CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Southeast Missouri State men's and women's track and field teams will return to the Gladstein Fieldhouse for competition this weekend at the Indiana Relays, hosted by the University of Indiana. The meet will begin this afternoon, with preliminaries scheduled for 3 p.m., and will resume with finals on Saturday at noon. The men's team will be led by junior John Berry and sophomore Chris Williams who have both earned OVC honors within a two week span. In addition to Berry and Williams, freshmen T.J. Walls and Lance Althenthal, who both had top finishes for the team last weekend, will compete in their respective events. Teammates Mark McNamara and Tom Kinder will add depth in the 800 meter run. The 4x400 meter relay, which did not compete last weekend, should have a solid performance. Senior All-American, Miles Smith, will not compete in this meet due to an injury. They will be joined by sophomores Precious Elliot and Whitney Thomas who are expected to have strong finishes in the sprints. Sophomore Juli Koenegstein will lead the distance, competing in both the one mile run and the 3K open. She will be joined by teammates Brittni Peck and Linnea Woldtvedt. Freshman Brenda Whitworth, who finished sixth in the 600 meters last weekend, is looking to repeat her top performance as she competes in her respective event.
