Southeast Track Throwers Compete in Memphis

March 21, 2007

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - The throwers and some jumpers will represent the Southeast Missouri State University track teams at the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tenn., on Saturday.

"With the discus and javelin added to the outdoor list of events, we felt we needed to get some additional experience," said Southeast throws coach Eric Crumpecker. "It will be a good opening meet for our throwers."

Jumpers John Berry and Bilal Hameed will also compete in Memphis along with sprinter Chris Williams who will run the 100 and 200-meters.

Throwers competing will include Ashley Brewer, Lindsay Hearne, Rebecca Martin, Andy Croxford, Richard Martin and Bill Nekula.

The entire Southeast men's and women's teams will compete at the Mississippi State Relays on March 30-31. The Redhawks will compete on April 6 and 7 at the Gatorade Classic at the Abe Stuber Track & Field Complex on the Southeast campus.

The 26th annual Gatorade Classic will include teams from Illinois State, Western Illinois, Southern Illinois-Carbondale, Southern Indiana, Tennessee State, Murray State and Southeast Missouri.
