Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State senior Heather Jenkins has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week. She won the discus at the Rhodes Open in Memphis last Saturday with an NCAA Regional qualifying throw of 163-5.

She also finished second in the shot put (45-7.75) and third in the hammer throw (155-4).

Jenkins was the OVC Female Athlete of the Year in 2004, but missed last season with a knee injury.

She will be back in action on Friday and Saturday, March 31 and April 1 in the Gatorade Classic at the Abe Stuber Track & Field Complex.
