Track Redhawks Claim Four Titles At Memphis

Memphis, Tenn. - A limited number of Southeast Missouri State track and field athletes competed in the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tenn., but still came away with four individual titles.

Chris Williams, the only Redhawks runner competing in the meet, won the 200-meters in a time of 21.68 and placed second in the 100 in 10.76.

Long jumper John Berry claimed the title with a jump of 24-5 while Bilal Hameed won the triple jump with a jump of 48-2 1/2.

The Redhawks women claimed one individual title with Rebecca Martin winning the javelin with a throw of 141-1. Lindsay Hearne was third in the javelin with a throw of 127-3 while Ashley Brewer placed fourth at 121-4. Brewer was also third in the discus with a throw of 140-11.

Richard Martin placed third in the men's javelin with a throw of 160-11 while Bill Nekula was third in the shot put with a throw of 49-11 3/4. Andy Glass was fourth in the shot with a throw of 48-10 1/4.
