Hameed and Martin Earn OVC Honors

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Southeast track and field team claimed two weekly honors from the OVC. Bilal Hameed and Rebecca Martin were both selected as Field Athletes of the Week for their first performance of the outdoor season.

Hameed, a sophomore from East St. Louis, Illinois, jumped to a first place finish with a distance of 48'02.50" in the triple jump at the Rhodes Invitational. His leap ranks first on the OVC best list this year.

Martin placed first in the javelin throw at the Rhodes Invitational


Martin, a sophomore from Bufordville, Missouri, placed first in the javelin throw with a toss of 141'01.00" at the Rhodes Invitational. The mark places her first on the OVC best list.

The Redhawks will be in action on Saturday, March 31, at the Mississippi Sate Invitational in Starkville, Miss.
