McNabb Qualifies For NCAA Regional

Nashville, Tenn. - Sophomore Kevin McNabb of Southeast Missouri State University qualified for the NCAA Regional championships by placing second in the Vandervilt Invitational 3000-meter steeplechase. McNabb, the highest finishing collegian, timed 9:03.05.

McNabb's time is the fastest in the Ohio Valley Conference this season and qualifies him for the NCAA Mideast Regional at the University of Tennessee.

Other top finishers at the Vanderbilt Invitational that attracted over 800 collegiate athletes included a third place finish by Lindsay Hearne in the javelin. She threw 121-10. Becca Martin was eighth in the javelina t 106-4.

Jason Theodorakos placed third in the men's javelin with a throw of 179-5.

Lindsay Zeiler placed fifth in the 1500-meters with a time of 4:32.99.

The Vanderbilt Invitational continues on Saturday.
