Jordan Willi Wins Pole Vault at Vanderbilt Invitational

April 22, 2006

Nashville, Tenn. - Jordan Willi of Southeast Missouri State won the pole vault title at the Vanderbilt Invitational. Willi had a seasonal best of 15-11 to win over a talented field.

Over 800 collegiate athletes competed at Vanderbilt and Southeast coach Joey Haines was pleased with the performance of the Southeast athletes. "I thought our women had a really good meet," Haines said. "Competing against competition like this helps us prepare for the Ohio Valley Confernce championships on May 5 and 6."

Megan Rosenkoetter tied for second in the women's pole vault with a vault of 10-11.75. Michele Jett was fifth at 10-6. Lainie Bohnsack was fourth in the high jump at 5-6 and Whitney Thomas was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.10.

Kyra Joiner was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 65.16 while Heather Jenkins was second in the discus with a throw of 164-7 and was fifth in the shot put at 47-1.

Lindsay Zeiler completed a strong two day performance by placing seventh in the 800-meters in a time of 2:15.33.

Andrew Lambert was sixth in the high jump at 6-6 while Ryan Doty was ninth at 6-6 but with more misses. Walt Washington was fourth in the 400-meters with a time of 48.19.

Southeast standout Miles Smith did not compete because of a sore leg, but is probable for next week's Drake Relays.
