Track Teams Place in Top 15 at the Vanderbilt Invitational

Nashville, Tenn. - After weeks of battling cold and rainy weather, the Southeast Missouri State University men's and women's track teams finally had two warm and sunny days to compete at the Vanderbilt Invitational. The men's team placed 14th out of 26 teams while the women's team was 15th out of 24 teams.

Sophomore Whitney Thomas had the top finish by the women with third place in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.28. Ore Ibe was sixth in the hurdles at 14.47.

Senior Lindsay Zeiler was sixth in the 1500-meters while sophomore Juli Koenegstein was sixth in the steeplechase. Zeiler timed 4:33.51 2hile Koenegstein had a time of 11:05.30.

Freshman thrower Brandon Colbert paced the Southeast men with a third place finish in the discus with a throw of 163-8. Bilal Hameed was fourth in the triple jump at 48-11 ¾ while John Berry was fifth in the long jump at 28-8 ¼.
