SCOTT AND JENKINS WIN EVENTS AT INDIANA

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Heather Jenkins won the women's discus and Shelton Scott won the men's triple jump at the 25th annual Billy Hays Invitational on Sunday at Indiana University.

Jenkins, an NCAA qualifier in the shot put and discus, won the discus with a throw of 158-2 while Scott, an NCAA qualifier in the triple jump, won his specialty with a jump of 50-1 ¾.. Jenkins was also second in the shot put at 49-3 while Scott was fifth in the long jump with a jump of 22-0 ¾.

Hannah Stuckenschneider was second in the women's 400-meters in a time of 55.14 while Jared Tanz was fifth in the men's 800 with a time of 1:53.55. Courtney Haman was second in both the high jump (5-7) and javelin (134-1).

Jay Heddell was second in the shot put with a throw of 57-8 ½ and ninth in the discus (161-10). Brandon Myer was third in the discus (169-0) and fourth in the shot put (53-3 ½). Daniel Jones was eighth in the discus (162-11) while Jeremy Benberry was eighth in the shot put (48-8).

Meleisa Greene was sixth in the long jump (18-0 ¼) while Michelle Jett was 11th in the pole vault (10-2).

Southeast gained no additional NCAA qualifiers but will have another chance next weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta.
