Heather Jenkins 21st in NCAA Discus Finals

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State University junior Heather Jenkins finished 21st in the discus at the NCAA Track & Field Championships in Austin, Texas. Jenkins threw 165-feet 1-inch to place fourth in her flight and 21st overall.

The NCAA finals concluded another outstanding season for Jenkins who was selected as the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor and Outdoor Female Track Athlete of the Year. She won the indoor shot put and weight throw and the outdoor discus and shot put.

Jenkins qualified for the NCAA Regionals in the shot put, discus and hammer throw and advanced to the NCAA finals in the discus for the second time in her career.

The appearance in the NCAA finals for Jenkins also concluded an outstanding season for the Southeast women's track team that won both the OVC Indoor and Outdoor championships.
