Head Track and Field Coach Joey Haines Signs New Athlete

Cape Girardeau, MO (November 13, 2003) - Head Track and Field coach Joey Haines announced the signing of Lindsay Hearne during the early signing period this week. Hearne attended Freeburg High School in Freeburg, IL.

In 2003 Hearne was All-State in the 100 meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump. She led her team to the Illinois Class A State Track and Field Championships in 2003. Hearne was the team captain of Freeburg High School volleyball and track teams her junior and senior year. In 2003 she was named to the St. Louis All-Metro Track Team and was All-Conference in volleyball in 2002 and 2003. Hearne was also in the top ten percent of her graduating class.

"Lindsay will compete in the 100 meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump for Southeast in OVC competition," said Haines. "She will also train for the heptathalon on a national level. Lindsay can be a NCAA National caliber multi-event athlete."
