Men's Cross Country Wins Stegemoller Classic

Evansville, Ind. - The Southeast Missouri State men's cross country team opened the season by winning the Stegemoller Classic at Southern Indiana.

The Redhawks were led by Brandon Karcher who was the top collegiate finisher with a time of 18:45 for the 6,000-meter course. Karcher who was third overall behind two non-collegians was followed by Redhawks temmates |Nate Shipley and Dustin Davis in fourth and fifth place while Chris Loseman was ninth and Jason Lumpkin 13th.

The Redhawks had a team low score of 34 points, followed by Southern Indiana with 43, Bellarmine 82, SouthernIndiana Alumni 85 and Brescia 138.

The Southeast women's team finished third behind Southern Indiana and Belarmine. The Redhawks women were led by sophomore Linea Woldvtvedt who finished third.
