CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Friday September 9, 2005) Southeast Missouri State opens their Cross Country season in Memphis Tenn. The Redhawks are participating in the Memphis Twilight classic, a race that features over twenty schools including conference rivals Austin Peay and Murray State.
The Twilight Classic is a night run in which the participants race under lighting in the Mike Rose Soccer Complex. The women's team is starting their three mile race at 8:30 p.m. Jen Caywood hopes to get a good start on her final season at Southeast and freshmen Amy Warren looks to start of her career with a strong showing.
The men's four mile race starts at 9:00 p.m. Southeast runners such as Kevin McNab, a sophomore, and senior Gabe Lutes are eager to begin their quest to improve on the men's team finish of 2004.
