Redhawks Cross Country Teams Place in the Top 20

Louisville, Ky. (Saturday, October 4, 2008) - The Redhawks men’s and women’s cross country teams competed today in Louisville, Ky. at the Greater Louisville Classic. The men’s team finished 11th in the 8K Gold division while the women’s team captured 15th in the 5K Gold division.

 

Senior Brandon Karcher was the team leader for the Redhawks men. He finished 23rd with a time of 24:37.01.  Nathan Shipley placed 58th with a time of 25:15.98. Following Shipley were Dustin Davis (68th - 25:21.54) and Chris Loseman (96th - 25:39.38) who finished in the top 100.

 

On the women’s side, Juli Koenegstein posted a time of 18:19.67, a new season best for the leading Redhawk senior. She finished 35th overall. Teammate Monica Noble was the number two runner for the Southeast women. She finished 77th overall with a time of 18:50.41. Finishing up in the top 100 were Redhawks runners Linnea Woldtvedt (80th – 18:52.09) and Amy Warren (95th – 19:02.89)

 

The Redhwaks Cross Country Teams will have the next week off to prepare for the Redhawks Classic on Friday October 17 starting at 5:00 p.m.
