Southeast Cross Country Travels to Indiana

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Southeast cross country teams returns to competition this Saturday. The men will compete at the Pre-NCAA Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind. while the women will compete at the Evansville Invitational in Evansville, Ind. Both events will begin at 11:00 a.m.

The Pre-NCAA will be held at the Wabash Valley Sports Center and hosted by Indiana State. 45 of the top 60 teams in the nation will participate. The event will have a total of 86 men's teams and 87 women's teams. Due to the large number of athletes competing, the event will contest six sections. The Southeast men will race in the 8K Open which is scheduled to begin at 2:05 p.m.

The Redhawks enters the meet with a 10th place ranking in the Midwest Region. Competing this weekend will be Kevin McNab who is expected to lead the men's team. Also running will be Chris Herren, Dustin Davis, Brandon Karcher, and Danny Stults.

The Evansville Invitational will be held on the campus of the University of Evansville. The event will feature competitors from 11 different schools. Competing along with the with Southeast women will be Creighton, the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Lipscomb, Belmont, Marian College, Murray State, Tennessee-Martin, Tennessee Tech, and Vincennes.

Juli Koenegstein is expected to pace the women. Also running will be Brittni Peck, Sarah Verelst, and Stephanie Harres.

This will be the last competition for both teams before the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championships.
