Cross Country Prepares for Final Meet Before OVC Championships

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Saturday, October 17, 2009) - The Southeast Missouri State cross country team will be in action this Saturday October 17th as they compete at the UE Invitational. After a strong showing at the Greater Louisville Classic the two teams look to duplicate their success on the UE Cross Country Course in Evansville, Indiana.

At the Greater Louisville Classic, Jason Lumpkin placed 40th with a time of 25:01.18 setting a new personal best. Chris Loseman was not far behind him with a time of 25:23.61 placing 65th.

Also setting personal best times at the Greater Louisville Classic were Tyler Mullen (25:42.19), Joel Krause (27:04.82), and Devon Dudding (27:16.17).

As a team the men placed 24th out of 38 teams in the Gold Division.

The women's teams stood out at the Greater Louisville Classic, as well. Monica Noble placed 51st with a time of 18:33.36 setting a new personal best. Szandra Pal continued her success this season placing 106th.

Other top finishers include Liz Speicher (19:34.35), and Linnea Woldtvedt (20:03.37).

Also competing for the Redhawks was Kasey Owens (20:16.13), Lanie Haertling (21:40.25), and Kelley Good (22:34.22).

As a team the women's placed 26th out of 35 teams.

Three years ago Woldtvedt placed 21st at the UE Invitational with a time of 19:23.56.

Among the teams competing at the UE Invitational include OVC rivals Austin Peay, Eastern Illinois, Murray State, and Tennessee Tech. Also among the 16 teams competing are Belmont, Lipscomb, and Marshall
