CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Southeast Missouri State University cross country teams will travel to Peoria, Ill. to compete at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday, November 13. The meet will be held at Newman Golf Course. The women will run the 6K, starting at 11:00 a.m. The men will start their 10K race at 12:15 p.m.

The cross country teams last competed at the OVC Cross Country Championships on October 30. The men’s team grabbed second place, while the women finished fifth.

The men were led by a First Team All-OVC performance from senior Jason Lumpkin. He completed the 8K course in 25:44.07, in sixth place.

The men also put up three Second Team All-OVC performances at the OVC meet by senior Chris Loseman (eighth – 25:56.32), junior Nate Shipley (ninth – 25:58.93), and senior Dustin Davis (13th – 26:14.00) .

Kasey Owens set the pace for Southeast women with a Second Team All-OVC effort, running the 5K course in 19:11.09 and finishing 13th.

At the 2009 Midwest regional, the men’s team finished 22nd.

The Redhawk men were led by Chris Loseman at the 2009 Midwest Regional. Loseman ran the 10K course in 34:03.4, which was good enough for 104th place.

Seniors Jason Lumpkin, Cody Martin, and sophomore Tyler Mullen also ran at last year’s Midwest Regional, finishing 125th (34:44.8), 140th (35:16.6), and 115th (34:26.6), respectively.

The Southeast women did not field a team for the 2009 Midwest Regional, but had two athletes compete individually.

Senior Monica Noble finished 109th with a time of 23:35.6 in the 6K course. She was followed by Szandra Pal in 124th place.

The Midwest Region includes schools from 10 conferences, including the Atlantic 10, Big 12, BIG EAST, Big Ten, Conference-USA, Horizon League, Mid-American, Missouri Valley, Ohio Valley, and Summit League, along with one Independent.
