Men's Cross Country Finishes 20th At NCAA Midwest Regional

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State men's cross country closed the 2006 season under first-year cross country coach Miles Kreiger at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 11, hosted by Minnesota at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn. The Redhawks scored 506 points to finish 20th in the meet. Oklahoma State captured the regional title by with 72 points, while Kansas finished second with 88 points.

Sophomore Brandon Karcher (Mt. Vernon, Ill.) led all Southeast runners with a 78th-place finish at a time of 33:13.39. Senior Chris Herren (Harrisburg, Ill.) placed 86th with a time of 33:32.84, while freshman James Lee (Eureka, Mo.) finished 106th with a time of 34:12.39.

Freshman Dustin Davis (Edwardsville, Ill.) finished 115th with a time 34:38.64 and junior Danny Stults (Springfield, Ill.) took 121st place with a time of 35:05.49 to round out the scoring. Sophomore Tom Kinder (St. Peter's, Mo.) also competed for the Redhawks by placing 135th at a time of 37:12.59.
