Carbondale, IL - Cross Country made their second trip of the season to SIU-Carbondale for the Southern Illinois Invitational. The Carbondale men took their second straight Saluki Invitational title while the women's side was dominated by the University of Illinois who had five of the first seven individual placewinners. Southeast finished 4th out of 12 teams while the women were 6th out of 11 teams.

The men were once again led by senior Brian Whitehead who crossed in 26:12 for 13th place out of 96 runners. Freshman Brian McNab was a close second in 26:35 for 19th place and freshman Brandon Karcher was 27th in 26:45.

Junior Jen Caywood led the Southeast women again after at strong performace last weekend as well. She finished 23rd out of 109 runners in 18:46 while junior Brooke Woodruff completed the 5K race in 18:51 for 26th place. Senior Kris Woolf came in at 19:04 for 31st place.

Both teams will be back in action for their first and only home meet at Capaha Park on Oct. 23. Be there to support Southeast Cross Country!
