Redhawks Drop Final Home Game of the Season, 11-2

The way the history of the Redhawks baseball and Central Arkansas match-up has played out the last two seasons one of the two teams was going to score a lot of runs. Unfortunately it was the Bears that had their offense firing on all cylinders as they hammered the Redhawks staff for an 11-2 victory at Capaha Field on Wednesday. The game was the final home game and non-conference game for the Redhawks who end the season 14-13 at home.

Six Redhawks turned in multiple-hit performances Tuesday as the Southeast Missouri State University baseball team steamrolled Central Arkansas 12-4. Nick Harris and Tyrell Cummings both collected three hits, leading Southeast to 16 total, just one shy of a season high.

The Redhawks baseball team showed their mettle as they kept clawing their way back from deficit after deficit throughout the game against Ohio Valley Conference rival Eastern Kentucky, finally grabbing their first and only lead of the game in walk-off fashion 8-7 in the series finale at Capaha Field on Sunday afternoon. It was the second walk-off win in as many days and the sixth such win of the season for the Redhawks who moved to fifth in the OVC standings with one more three-game series left in the season.

The Redhawks (18-18, 8-8) and Governors (21-22, 9-9) combined for 24 hits, 19 runs and a total of 10 errors.
