Outlook: McDonald is a returning 2nd-Team All-OVC Selection and will be looking to solidify his role as the league’s best catcher. The most solid hitter on the team, Tristen should look for a breakout season after being the team’s best power hitter a season ago. A solid catcher, with a strong arm and great signal-caller, McDonald is a team leader on and off the field.

At Southeast

2002: Started in all 56 games he played in at either catcher or designated hitter…hit .353 and was the team-leader in home runs with 10, and was second on the team in RBI’s with 52…had a team-high 18 multiple RBI games last season as well as 21 multiple hit games…was a great clutch hitter as he hit .351 and had 17 RBI’s with two outs.

2001: Started in 51 of 52 games played in...hit .286 while smacking 13 doubles and six home runs.

At Iowa Central C.C.: Belted out a .428 batting average is first season at ICCC with 11 homers and 24 doubles during the 1999 season...led the Tritons to a 45-10 overall mark and 18-5 record in conference play...struckout just 22 times in 187 at bats...named to the all-region team...a medical red-shirt during the 2000 season.

Personal: Graduated from Strathmore Secondary College in 1998...participated in football and cricket as a prepster...born 7.6.79...son of Robert and Margaret McDonald...a physical education major...listed representing Australia in U16-U19 World Championship as his biggest athletic accomplishment.
