Cape Girardeau, Mo. - If Iowa State never faces the trifecta of 2B Clemente Bonilla, SS Zach Borowiak and 1B Shane Allen, it'll be too soon. It was those three players that spelled victory once again for the Southeast Missouri State Indians (3-0) as the three were responsible for two more victories, 3-2 and 3-0 over a struggling Iowa State (0-6) club.

It seemed like déjà vu all over again as Southeast came to bat in the bottom of the seventh in game one. Instead of scored being knotted like yesterday, the Indians were facing a 2-1 deficit. With two outs, Bonilla walked to the plate stroked his fourth double of the weekend - second of the day. Borowiak came up next and answered with a double of his own to drive in Bonilla and lace-up the score at 2-all. Allen soon found himself at the plate after RF Tristen McDonald earned an automatic pass to first courtesy of ISU hurler Terry Nunn, who had just entered the game in the bottom of the seventh with one out. With a full-count against him, Allen powered the ball to left-center and easily drove home a waiting Borowiak and hand Southeast the 3-2 win. It was Borowiak's second consecutive winning-run scored in two games.

Iowa State jumped onto the board first in game one after T.J. Bohn lifted a homer off of RHP Todd Pennington in the second. The Cyclones would stay silent until the fifth, when with bases loaded from the fielder's choice Adam Christ scored off a rare throwing error by Bonilla.

The Indians answered in their own portion of the fifth as DH Brad Beatty launched his first collegiate home run. The hit also was a first, as he went 0-for-2 yesterday.

Pennington was near perfect, with the exception of Bohn's homer, in his first start since his freshman season. He finished the game in four innings with three hits, one run and three strikeouts.

RHP Greg Lunski notched the win, his Division I first. Lunski is a junior college transfer out of Los Angeles City College. He recorded no hits, three strikeouts and two walks.

Game two was a much different story defensively, as Southeast starter RHP Brad Purcell silenced the Cyclones through three innings. He allowed just three hits, two walks and struckout four in 21 batters faced. The fielding in game two also improved, as both teams record zero errors.

The game story offensively was very much the same, as Borowiak pounced on ISU pitcher Allen Bomer's fastball in the third inning for a single to score C Jeff Bourbon. Bourbon had reached after being hit by a Bomer pitch. It was the All-American short stop once again in the fifth, as Borowiak doubled to left-center and scored Bonilla, who had just hit his first double of the day. The final blow of the series was served in the sixth, as Bourbon recorded his first RBI of the season off a single to center to score Beatty.

RHP Andy Davidson, a red-shirt from a year ago, came through in the seventh to seal the win for Purcell and pick up the save for himself.

Bonilla and Borowiak had career weekends for the Southeast Indians. Bonilla finished the series batting .667 off of 6-for-9 at the plate. He marked four doubles and four runs scored. In addition he was 1-for-2 on the base paths. Borowiak is now batting .600 on 6-for-10 at the plate. He recorded five RBI, three doubles and two runs scored.

The Indians will begin their eight-game road swing this Wednesday, the 14th, at Memphis. The game is scheduled to begin a 2 p.m.
