Box Score

Cape Girardeau, MO. - Southeast pitching showed its resilience today after a rough road trip against baseball powerhouses Oklahoma and Ole Miss. Starting pitcher Anthony Maupin (1-1) tossed a two-hitter in five innings of work as the Indians dominate Brescia 8-0 in game two of a doubleheader at Capaha Park.

Eric Hoffman and Freddy Lopez led the team in hitting, combining for three RBI's in the game. Hoffman, a key element in the first game, continued his success in the second by going one-for-three with one walk.

Southeast broke the game wide open by sending home five runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead for good. Southeast has had good hitting this season, but added strong pitching performances in today's games.

Southeast would later add three runs in the sixth inning to put the game away. Reliever Bill Clayton finished the last two innings for Maupin by only allowing one hit and striking out four. Next up for the tribe is the St. Louis University Billikins at Capaha Park on Wednesday. The game is slated for a 3:00 p.m. start.
