March 10, 2004

Box Score

Cape Girardeau, MO. - (March 10, 2004) - Southeast started out slow today, but came back in the eighth to beat the St. Louis University Billikens 7-4. Pitcher Brad Smith pitched 4 2/3 innings of scoreless ball while Bo Jenkins broke the game wide open with a two-run homerun to defeat SLU.

Southeast struggled for most of the game to figure out St. Louis starter Ryan Bird, but as soon as he was pulled, the Indians were able to get their hitting back together. St. Louis pulled Bird in the seventh inning in favor of Eric Rohr. Southeast would knock Rohr in the eighth and continued the hit parade against SLU reliever Dave Guntorius.

The game was broken wide open when Aaron Fangman led off the eighth inning with a solo homerun. The Indians continued to put together timely hits in the inning until Bo Jenkins hit a two-run homerun to cap off the scoring for Southeast.

Brad Smith continues to be a huge threat for the Indians today by holding the Billikens scoreless, allowing three hits and striking out four for the game. Next up for the Indians is the Alabama Crimson Tide this Friday in Tuscaloosa. Southeast will return home on March 17th to face Central Michigan at 2:00 p.m.
