Box Score

Cape Girardeau, MO. - Southeast continues to roll on today as they win their second at Capaha 7-2. The Indians put 11 hits on the board while allowing the visiting Central Michigan Chippewa's two runs on six hits.

Accounting for much of the offense was Freddy Lopez, who hit two homers in the game. Lopez, who started the game batting .190 on the season broke out of his slump in a big way. Lopez was responsible for three of the Indians seven runs.

Lopez was not the only player to do damage in this game for the Indians. Derek Herbig was absolutely brilliant for the Indians' pitching staff today. Herbig struck out 13 batters in seven innings of work today, while giving up three walks. Herbig, a junior from Meade, Kansas, allowed 6 hits while in the game.

Game Notes The Indians' bats recorded 14 runs today, showing that the Indians are a very tough home team to beat. Brad Smith came in to finish off both games, but only recorded one save. The next game for Southeast will be on Friday against S.W. Missouri State at 1:00 p.m. Southeast remains unbeaten at home this season.
