Box Score

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Friday, March 17, 2006) The Redhawks baseball team dropped a 5-1 contest to Memphis at Nat Buring Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee Friday afternoon. The Tigers scored four unanswered runs in the final five innings to secure their second-straight victory and giving the Redhawks their second-straight loss.

The Redhawks (6-9) trailed 1-0 early after the Tigers (10-6) scored in their half of the opening inning off of Redhawks ace Jamie McAlsiter. In the third the Redhawks tied the game when Daniel Schuh singled to left with one out. Omar Padilla then followed with a single of his own through the right side to move Schuh to third. Padilla then stole second to give the Redhawks two runners in scoring position with one out. Asif Shah then drove in Schuh with a sacrifice fly.

That would be all the offense the Redhawks could muster against Tigers starter Scott McGregor a(1-2) s he allowed only six hits (all singles) and one run in six innings of work before handing the pitching duties over to his bullpen who limited the Redhawks to two hits over the final three innings to secure his first win of the season.

McAlister (2-4) was not as lucky as he allowed four runs on 13 hits in his six innings of work. Reliever James Hibbard was touched for an unearned run in his 1.2 innings of work.

Padilla extended his hitting streak to five games with his third inning single. Aaron Rave collected his team-high fifth multi-hit game of the season with a 2-4 day. Schuh matched Rave with a 2-4 day. Phillip Riley went 2-3 for his fourth multi-hit game of the season.

The Tigers were led by Cory Barton who hit a two-run homer. Ben Grisham went 3-4.

The Redhawks and Tigers will complete the two-game series on Saturday with first pitch set for 2:00 p.m.
