Martin, Tenn. (May 3, 2003) - The Southeast Missouri State baseball team scored 25 runs as Indian pitching limited the UT-Martin Skyhawks to just three runs over two games as the Tribe won both games of a double-header by the scores of 14-2, and 9-1. Southeast now moves to 24-15 overall and 8-5 in the OVC, as Martin falls to 14-24-1, and 3-9-1 in the conference.

Southeast scored early and often in both games today. In game one, they scored twice in the second once in the fourth, four in the fifth and twice in the ninth. Bill Clayton pitched seven brilliant innings as he limited the Hawks to just five hits and one earned while striking out seven and walking just two.

Tristen McDonald was 2-3 with 6 RBI on the day as he had two sacrifice flies. Brian Hopkins was 3-4 with two runs scored as Zach Borowiak was 2-3 with three runs scored.

The Tribe scored five runs over the first two innings and nine over the final three as they rolled to the 14-2 victory in game two. Tim Alvarez started and continued his stellar season as he pitched five one-run innings, striking out two and walking none. Jon Nourie and Denver Stuckey pitched the final two innings.

Hopkins was 2-3 with two runs scored and three RBI in the game. Tristen McDonald was 3-5 with two runs scored in the second game as Eric Hoffman banged out a three-run homer. Seth Moulton was 4-5 on the day with two runs scored and two RBI.

Southeast now will finish the three game series tomorrow at 1 p.m.
