Paducah, Ky. - Fifth seeded Eastern Kentucky scored two runs in the first inning and never looked back, upsetting second seeded Southeast Missouri 12-6 in the opening round of the Ohio Valley Conference tournament.

Eastern Kentucky (22-27) scored 12 runs on 13 hits and benefited from eight walks, two hit batsmen and two Southeast errors. Southeast Missouri (30-19) pulled within 5-4 with three runs in the bottom of the fifth, but EKU scored five runs in the top of the eighth to put the game away. Southeast had 13 hits with Denver Stuckey, Gary Gilbert, Justin Christian, Seth Moulton, and Aaron Fangman all contributing two.

Southeast will play the loser of the Tennessee Tech vs. Murray State game at 11 a.m. Thursday in an elimination game.
